The reasons of women hair loss
Hair has always been considered as a symbol of female beauty and health. Therefore hair loss is for many women cause of psychic stress, even because many women have difficulty talking freely about their problem. More and more women have the problem of hair loss.
Causes of Hair Loss in Women
Many women lose their hair in particular phases of life. Hormonal changes, for example during pregnancy, during menopause or even during the advanced stage of puberty, can alter hair balance by influencing its growth. Even psychological factors and the lack of nutritional elements can affect hair and show the consequences after years. Normally, there is no single cause, but the combination of different causes such as stress, bad diet, pregnancy, menopause, which ultimately lead to hair loss. Hair loss for genetic reasons in women is quite rare, albeit rising.
Circular Loss (Alopecia areata)
Circular loss can occur anywhere in your head. In a short time the hair loss will produce circular or oval shaped calves. These areas are easily visible, as, depending on the type of haircut, they do not let themselves be masked. In 50% of cases, these areas recoil themselves without any care. However, it may also happen that these areas expand to total hair loss (Alopecia totalis). In most severe cases, all body hairs such as eyebrows, eyelashes and other body hair (Alopecia universalis) can also be lost.
Hair more and more fine
With years it is possible that hair bulbs produce more and more fine hair. Often the problem is related to the scalp or lack of nutrients. Even hormonal variations – including the most important menopause – may be the cause of hair becoming finer.
The most common form of hair loss in women is the widespread loss. The loss affects the entire surface of the scalp and is initially almost imperceptible. Causes can be: hormonal variation, thyroid problems, lack of iron, infections, scarring of the scalp, stress or lipid deficiency. In the advanced state, there can be bald areas, almost always at the center line.
Hair loss due to medicines (eg chemotherapy)
Medicines and toxic substances can cause total hair loss. The most well-known is chemotherapy. Usually the hair grows on its own. Wigs or scarves are certainly helpful during the care period.
Hair loss in pregnancy
During pregnancy your body will be subject to a major hormonal variation. This will be noticeable in skin and hair changes. If some women benefit from thicker hair growth due to high doses of estrogen, others notice increased hair loss.
Pregnancy Hair Loss
The causes of hair loss during pregnancy often reside in the wrong care of scalp and hair at young age. Also the shortage of vitamins and mineral salts can be at the root of the problem.
It may also happen that hair loss in pregnancy is only a coincidence and that the cause is different.
Women who lose their hair after pregnancy should not worry, this is due to the decrease in estrogen levels. Growth will normalize rapidly.
